Crisis Management
When one person is in crisis the family system is as well. The crisis can cause the decision-making process to be difficult. A professional team that is unaffected by the crisis can remain neutral and grounded in a high-stress and crucial time.
In crisis situations, there is a small window of time to take action. Being able to build and implement an appropriate plan with urgency is imperative to the health and well-being of the individual experiencing the crisis. The American Journal of Psychiatry states that the shorter the time between crisis and intervention, the more favorable the outcome.
